Up this morning to the sound of mad hooting from *two* Oyster Catchers.
The reason turned out to be that all three eggs had hatched. With
tissue paper in my ears the hooting isn't so bad, but apparently other
people (especially Ian who is working on repointing the stone wall of
the house at the moment) are being driven nuts.
Wanted to put the springs in today, but realised that the supports still
aren't strong enough. So, put a brace across the top - nice shiny new metal!
Next will be to stabilise the 4th corner (purple), making sure that the
wheel can still turn.
Front base cross-piece (green) stabilising things nicely. The shock tops
need a fourth brace (across to the far front corners, down to the diagonal,
marked in purple). At that point the front suspension should be actually
stable.
